From Vancouver I headed to Victoria on Vancouver Island. I took the ferry from the Tsawwassen terminal south
of Vancouver to the Swartz Bay terminal north of Victoria.
The first picture is of the Tsawwassen terminal as we head off towards the Island.
A few house near Galiano.
The Swartz Bay terminal.
The first thing I just had to do when I got to the Island was to get a picture of my
Jeep next to starting point of the Trans-Canada Highway, yup as the sign says 'Mile 0'. That's
the Pacific Ocean in the back ground, so that's it, coast to coast in about a month and a half.
If you recall, I first saw the Atlantic Ocean back on July 21 out at Bar Harbor.
This is the coast looking west near 'Mile 0'.
This is the coast looking east near 'Mile 0'.
A navy ship of some sort near 'Mile 0'.
I arrived in Victoria late in the day, so after spending a bit of time I around 'Mile 0' I went
off to find a hotel for the night. While I was doing that it rained like I never saw before. After
I got settled in my hotel the rain went away as quickly as it came, so I took a drive along the
coast around Victoria. It was interesting to see all the expensive houses along the way, but
for some reason I didn't bother to take any pictures. I guess they didn't have a wow factor like
some of them say around Marblehead.
The next morning when I woke up it was raining and after checking the weather conditions it
looked more promissing in Tofino, so I headed that way...
