Bonjour. I arrived in Paris late this afternoon and just got settled in my hotel room. I am located only 500 meters from the Eiffel Tower in a much nicer hotel then I had in London, although the price is a bit cheaper. It sure pays to shop around. The hotel I'm in is the 10th one I looked at. Fortunately they were just a few blocks apart and since I had them all pre-located on my GPS device I had no trouble finding any of them.

My experience with the Paris subway system back in 2001 came in handy today. Making it realy easy to get from the Train Station to the hotel area. Speaking of Trains, the Eurostar from London was fun. I sat with a lady from London who was meeting a friend of her's in Paris. They are driving to southern France tomorow for a 10 choire convention. They'll practice in the mornings and site see in the afternoons!

Anyway, back to the Eurostar. We made good time, taking only about 3 hours for the trip that, based on my GPS device, never exceed 305 KPH. According to this lady the short travel time sure has changed things. Because of it people now routinely travel between London and Paris just for a weekend visit. That's what her and her friend do.

That's enough for now. It's time to go find some food and try to take a ride to the top of the Eiffel tower.
